Mylene Costa

Welcome to my sculptural universe!

I am Mylene Costa, a Brazilian sculptor with an international career. Here, matter and time meet — and the silence of forms reveals what words cannot express.

"Each sculpture is a trace of something breaking, bending, or blooming — a fragment of narrative that remains open, like a beautiful wound."

Mylene Costa

"My works are not meant to merely seduce through visual impact; I aim to provoke a deeper reflection on the body, desire, and memory."

I am a sculptor, born in Cuiabá, Brazil, and I divide my life between Brazil and the United States. My work moves between the figurative and the abstract, focusing on the feminine and the multiple layers of existence. With a poetic and intuitive approach, I create each piece as an invitation to contemplation.

Mylene Costas works take the female body as a starting point, but do not end there. Their true strength lies in the pursuit of cracks, colors, and folds as elements that provoke the gaze, revealing that what is imagined can be more powerful than what is seen at first glance. Although the pieces converse as a whole, careful observation of their details surpasses the mere reading of legs or torsos. The magic of art happens when the imitation of reality is abandoned, allowing one to dive into estrangement, subtleties, and suggestion.

Mylene Costa is one of those artists with a sharp perception of a woman’s daily life — whether as a mother or as an entrepreneur — always attentive to the events that shape this universe. Her three-dimensional art often presents female figures in classic poses, portraying her characters with lines and gestures that convey sensuality and delicacy. There is a revealing silence in her work, typical of those who create from intuition, without following a pre-defined plan. Her pieces take shape and movement as her hands sensitively translate what the artist breathes and feels at that very moment.
